I'd like to
think the world
Would be a better place
If people knew
More poetry, song
And art.
But am I only
fooling myself?
Can this ever pass?
This terrible period
Of moral decay
Of moral degradation
If we fail to latch onto idealism and possibilities.
I reach out
and feel the evil-
The untruth, unfairness-all around me.
The injustice. Death.
Tell me the
world is getting better.
Lie to me.
Tease me with hope.
Give me just one glimmer of light.
I so much want to believe
In a world destroying itself with skepticism and disbelief.
